Reverberations

Written for flute & piano — dedicated to Aleyna M. Brown

Duration: 4' 30" Composed: 2018

Reverberations is an exploration in bird song. The musical material is derived from the songs of the Eastern Pee-Wee; a bird native to Tallahassee, FL where this piece was composed. Across the world in urban centers, birds are forgetting their songs because of noise pollution. This piece attempts to explore a small part of the impact we as humans have on our society, and to attempt to celebrate the efforts of some of those who are trying to preserve our natural resources.
