From September 2023 to June 2024, I conducted an acoustic survey of Iceland's National Parks. The goal of the project is to capture the impact of human noise on the soundscapes of the parks. We accomplished this by placing AudioMoth recording devices at field stations both close to and far removed from high tourist activity. The dual nature of this project as both creative and scientific led to multiple projects and compositions, some of which can be viewed on this page.
A selection of the recordings and data from the survey is available on the Arbimon platform at the bottom of this page.

Multiple pieces were written that use the recordings and data from the surveys to create works of interdisciplinary art. These include Ecosystem 512, Dead Ice Melting, Within Ice, and Sonifying the Arctic.
In addition to the creative projects, I presented the research results of the project at conferences and public events in Höfn, Skaftafell, and Reykjavík. One such project was the Sonic Mapping system presented at Harpa and at the International conference for Digital Humanities in the Nordic Countries.
