Mercurial portrays the three basic stages of matter thorugh dance and sound. The piece calls on the performer to play inside the piano using various devices and their hands, exploring ideas such as fricition and collision. The choreogrphy and composition sometimes stand at opposition, and at others are highly reactionary.
