Gare St. Lazare

Written for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn

Duration: 4' 30" Composed: 2015-2016

Inspired by the train station in Paris, this pieces moves through widely distinct idioms and calls upon a variety of sounds from the instruments involved. The piece culminates in an improvisation by the flute player, based on the tune that sounds in the the real Gare St. Lazare train station.
